About Vasudeo Kamath
For this extraordinary artist ‘brush became my tool and canvas my stage’ at a very early age. His genius became apparent after he completed studies at J J School of Art in Mumbai with distinction – ever since he has been inundated with awards, success and acclaim.
He has been involved with our project from its inception and shown creativity, imagination and talent which is rare to find. His vast knowledge and interest in the history of India has contributed immensely towards the whole project. He is a very disciplined person who sketches and draws daily without fail. This discipline has helped him produce the majority of the paintings for us. Each of his painting is a masterpiece. Not only that he has acted as a guide and inspiration for Vishal Wadaye, Sakale Manojkumar and the Sawant brothers. He has enjoyed working for us as the project resonates with what he believes in and stands for.
He is a master painter of immeasurable originality and vision. The vibrancy of his masterpiece paintings uplift, delight, engage and ultimately reach out to the people. In his words ‘I belong to my art. And my art belongs to my heart.’ In 2006 he became the first Indian to win the Grand Prize from the Portrait Society Of America for his painting entitled ‘My wife’. This has given him worldwide recognition. More than a hundred countries participated in this competition.
He has won many awards and honors in India and abroad and his paintings have been exhibited and sold worldwide.
About the art workshop / watercolor workshop:
Watercolor painting is considered as a master medium. On that point is something about watercolor that attracts everyone’s wide interest. The watercolor painting can serve the magic from spilled wet wash to detailed dry brush effect which no other medium can.
Artists put his emotions into the painting where the pigments of watercolor play its major role in delivers the output. In Hues of watercolor 6 the structured watercolor workshop or art workshops, the artist puts his thoughts on ‘Why Watercolor?’ through his demos with the landscape, mythical (conceptualized) art, portrait and other similar topics.
Watercolor is such a medium, which may appear simple in execution; but, the same take years to be perfect.
This is a 2-day art workshops / watercolor workshop for intermediate to advanced skill levels. Lessons & exercises are designed to expand and improve watercolor painting skills. Watercolorists will be encouraged to become more “intuitive” when applying brush to paper.
The art workshops are calling you to come prepared to be nudged out of your “comfort zone”.
Mornings will begin with a demo followed by discussion and exercise. 1 hour break for lunch.

Material & Equipment list:
Since this watercolor workshop is for more advanced watercolor painters, it is assumed that you already have the necessary “tools of the trade”; paint, brushes, palette, etc.
Materials recommended
*Paper: (Recommended )
12 x 16 Arches Watercolor Block – 140# cold press or 2 sheets – 22×30 Arches Watercolor paper – 300# cold press.
Note: If you opt to use 300# cold press, you will need a rigid support such as a piece of foam – we will be providing this.
*Brushes: We will be working with 1″ flat wash and Rounds # 8, #12, #16, plus a #2 Liner or “rigger”.
*Palette: Any palette that has at least 12 wells for color and a large mixing area for big puddles of color
*Paint: Bring what you have to include a good selection of colors – a warm & cool each of red, yellow and blue, burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Yellow Ochre.

5×7 or 6×8 sketchbook for value sketches & color notes
Quart-size Water container
pencil & soft eraser
low-tac painter’s tape 1/2″
Box of Tissues
Roll Paper Towels
